removing an accountant access


I am changing accounting firms, and I am trying to get as much done as possible before I inform the "old" accountant firm that I am switching.


I have QB online, and I can only give access to 2 accountants.  I tried removing one of the names so I can add my new accountant, and I get this error message that I can't delete her:


Sorry, this accountant is currently responsible for this company's QuickBooks subscription. Please contact the accountant to transfer the subscription to the company, and try again.


Is there any way I can transfer the subscription back to my company without having to ask her?

(I was the one who started this QB account, even before I hired this firm).

Let me share some info on how you can add your new accountant to help you manage QuickBooks.


Currently, you'll need to have your previous accountant transfer the master admin rights to your new accountant or delete you from its clients' list to have your new accountant claim the master admin rights. This way, your new accountant will take over and access your QuickBooks account completely.


Here's an article for the detailed instructions that can be done by your previous accountant: Manage clients with wholesale and direct billing. From there, you can guide them to go to Remove clients from wholesale billing section on how to remove you from billing and then let them transfer the admin rights to the new accountant.

Had she refused to transfer the Master Admin credential but you still hold a Company Admin credential, you may open a new QBO account.
