Welcome to the Community.

 

I can help you reset the Master Admin's password. Here's how:

  1. Go to this link: https://qbo.intuit.com.
  2. Click on the I forgot my user ID or Password link.
  3. Enter your email address.
  4. Click on Continue.

You'll receive an email from Intuit with the link to reset your password. Click on it and you'll be routed to enter your new password. Check out this article for a reference: Forgot password or user ID. How do I reset? [Video].

How do you reset if your email is not on the list? I am trying to reset the password on an accountants copy sent to me.

Call and ask Intuit Data Service for assistance. Otherwise, you have to purchase a 3rd party password reset service.

Hello, @conarycovelobster.

 

I'm here to make certain that you're able to enter a new password in your QuickBooks Desktop to get back to your business. 

 

You'll need to reset your password, so you can enter a new one. Before that, make sure that the information you enter on the reset page will match your CAMPS. This way, you can go through the process.

 

Here's how: 

 

  1. On the Company Login window, select I forgot my password.
  2. Select an email from the dropdown list, then Next
  3. Click the reset link to your email and follow the on-screen instructions. 

 

 

You may refer to this page: Reset your password for QuickBooks Desktop.

 

If the issue keeps going and got an error, I'd suggest using the Automated Password Reset tool (APRT). Let me guide you how:

 

  1. Install the APRT and select your version of QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Complete the required data, then tap Next

 

 

       3. Accept the license agreement to download the app. 

       4. Open it and type the token number received via email.

       5. On the QuickBooks Desktop Products drop-down, pick your version. 

       6. Browse the company file, then enter the correct Company File Admin User Name

       7. Write your temporary new password and then confirm it. Create a temporary password only as QuickBooks will ask you to change the password again when you open the company file.

       8. Hit Reset Password to complete the process.

 

After that, please re-open your account, then enter the temporary new password you've created previously. 

 

Here's how: 

 

  1. In the popup window, type your User Name in the box. 
  2. Enter the temporary new password you've created earlier in the Current Password box. 
  3. In the New and Confirmed New Password, write the same password. 

 

Example:

 

  • Temporary new password: Mh2021
  • New: Mh2021
  • Confirm: Mh2021

I'd like to share some insights on how you can update the email on file so you can reset the password.

 

When you no longer have access to the phone number or email address, you can send a request to our account protection team to recover your account.

 

Here are the process that you need to do:

  1. Take a high-quality photo or scan of your driver's license, passport, or other government-issued ID. Or, you can use a notarized document with your name and address.
  2. Fill out the form with your info in the link attached below, and upload your ID or document.
  3. Within one business day, look for an email from no_response@intuit.com with the next steps. If we approve your request, you'll receive a link to reset your password.

We'll take care of your request within one business day. Our business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PT.

 

Once you're back in your account, you can change your email address or other info. For extra security, our general support team doesn't have access to update your info.

 

However, if you need assistance with the process, you can always reach out to our Customer Care Team. They'll be able to check on your account and guide you with the process.

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
