Restoring Client's book from Accountant's Copy

I'm trying to quote a client, and I need to see his books. All he has is an Accountant's Copy. His current Accountant does not know how to remove his restriction to allow the client to restore from a backup. What are the steps for the Accountant to do to enable the client to view his books?

Restoring Client's book from Accountant's Copy

I know the steps to let your client remove the restriction, Bookometry.

Before giving the steps, please remind your client that removing the accountant's copy restriction is irreversible. They can consult with their current accountant before doing this process.

To remove the restriction, just follow these steps:

  1. Click File at the top, and then select Send Company File.
  2. Select Accountant's copy, and then Client Activities.
  3. Click the Remove Restrictions option.
  4. When prompted, click Yes, I want to remove the Accountant's Copy restrictions.
  5. Click OK.

You can also give this article to your client. This lets them know what happens to the file after the restriction is removed.

I'll be here if you need anything else. Thanks.
