For real estate rentals. My tenants = "Customers" and their monthly rent = "Other Primary Income". No data is shows up in sales by customer. Why?

For real estate rentals. My tenants = "Customers" and their monthly rent = "Other Primary Income". No data is shows up in sales by customer. Why?
I have tried changing the detail type of my rental income to Sales of Product Income and still nothing showed up in Sales by Customer. I've changed dates, accounting method, etc. Has anyone had this same issue?

How are you recording the rent payments?
"Sales" reports will only show sales transactions such as invoices and sales receipts.
If you're recording the payments strictly as income, you need to run an "Income by Customer" report.
