Sales tax Liability report does not equal my states (NC) online filing total?

I have checked my customers out of state address, and their local homes (ship to address).  QB is not calculating it correctly even though it has the correct % in it.

Re: Sales tax Liability report does not equal my states (NC) online filing total?

Hi there, @StoneG8.

I can help share some details on how to resolve the issue of your sales tax liability calculation in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

The state online filling total and sales tax liability report should match once they have the same transactions entered in QBO. In this case, you'll need to check each transaction recorded in the sales tax liability report, and if there are any discrepancies, you'll need to make an adjustment.

You can check this article for the detailed steps on how to record, adjust and delete sales tax payments in the Sales Tax Center: Manage sales tax payments.

If you need further assistance with the adjustment, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Support Team. They have additional tools to pull up your account and do a screen-sharing.

Here's how to contact our customer support:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help (question mark icon) at the top right.
  3. Select Contact us to connect with a live support agent.

Fill me in if you have additional questions about the sales tax liability in QBO. I'd be happy to answer them for you. Have a good day ahead.
