Set up and use location tracking

I am using version 3.5.2 of Quickbooks Online.  I cannot find how to turn on Locations and Classes (i.e. Categories.)  The various online documentation is incorrect --- For example, this article https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Inventory-and-projects/Set-up-and-use-location-tracking/m-p/..., points me to menu items that do not exist.

Set up and use location tracking

@dfmillerco

Setup instructions are accurate. Unfortunately, they didn't mention in the article, you need PLUS plan to have this feature. Do you PLUS plan (you know it's $60 per month plan)? If you've Essentials or Simple Start, this location feature is not available. Hope this helps!

Looks like I can get Class tracking in Desktop Pro.  Perhaps, I should transition from online.  It is crazy to spend $60/month for a single feature!  When I can get it with the lowest cost Desktop version.

Is my read on the feature availability in Pro correct?

Sorry, Location tracking is not available in desktop versions either. The Class tracking feature is available but not Location tracking.

Set up and use location tracking

You can assign a Class (Location) to each rental building to track revenue by building:

Edit > Preferences > Accounting > Company Preferences > Use class tracking for transactions

You can create the Class while creating an Invoice (or Sales Receipt) or prior to:

Lists > Class Lists > Class > New

The Class is the name of the rental building.

See the Profit & Loss breakdown by rental building:

Reports > Company & Financial > Profit & Loss by Class
