Should I remove "Accountants Version" restrictions? Cannot adjust GL accounts since sending "Accountants Version" to CPA. Keeps saying that version is Open.

Hi there, yuliana.

I'm glad you've reached out to the QuickBooks Community. Let me provide some insights about the Accountant's Copy in QuickBooks Desktop.

Have you sent the Accountant's Copy to your accountant? If yes, while your accountant is making changes, you cannot make any adjustment until your client is done with the  Accountant's Copy.

However, if you still didn't send the Accountant Copy, you can remove the accountant's copy restriction so you can adjust your GL accounts. To do this, here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu.
  2. Select Send Company File.
  3. Click Accountant's copy.
  4. Select Client Activities.
  5. Click Remove Restrictions.
  6. Select Yes, I want to remove the Accountant's Copy restrictions, then OK.

For additional reference, you can check these articles to learn more about Accountant's copy:

If you need further assistance with the steps from our live support, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Support Team. They have the tools to pull up your account and do a screen share.

  1. Follow the Official Intuit Contact link.
  2. Select your QuickBooks product.
  3. Select an issue type from the menu below, you need only to select two options for the contact information to appear.
  4. Click Start a message at the bottom.

That should do it! I'm just a post away if you have any other questions about the Accountant's copy. Have a good one.
