It's nice to see you here, @dw6653,

All our program have specific system requirements to ensure it functions properly. This is the reason why some versions won't work because of the operating system of the computer.

In order for me to sort this out, may I know which version of QuickBooks for Mac are you using? This will help me with your concern and that I can provide the accurate resolution for you.

Regarding your question about the QuickBooks Simple Start, this is different from the desktop versions of our program. This package is an online edition software which needs no installation. It is also the easiest and quickest way for single users (freelancers, gig workers, solo entrepreneurs) to manage all of their income and expenses in one simple tool. With QuickBooks Simple Start, you can invoice customers, connect bank and credit card accounts, track sales tax, and run basic financial statements. You can also connect with your accountant, making it easier at tax time.

This software, unlike a Mac desktop license is a subscription, which means you need to pay be term. For more information about this software and it's pricing, see this link here: QuickBooks Online Simple Start

If you need further assistance or questions about our programs, please let me know in the comment below. This way I get notified of your response and I can continue working with you. Have a good one!

I accidentally used the wrong code just now. I want to change from subscription to owned quick books. I downloaded WBA’s desktop thinking it was the non-subscription version. I am musing Mac OS Big Sur. Can switch to non- subscription.

Hello @dw6653,

Yes, you can purchase and install QuickBooks Desktop without a subscription compatible with Mac OS.

That said, here's a link where you're able to review our plan for QuickBooks Desktop for Mac: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/desktop/mac/.

Also, I've got you a compilation of articles to use once you start working with your business in QuickBooks: Help Articles - QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

If you have any other questions, please let me know in the comments below. I'll be here to lend a hand.
