Hello, Joelav8r. You have two options in migrating your data: you can use the built-in migration tools in QuickBooks Desktop or a Web-based migration tool. I’ll guide you through the process.

Here’s how to export your company file using the built in option:

  1. Sign in as an admin in QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Export your company file:
    • Go to CompanyExport Your Company File to QuickBooks Online for Pro and Premier.
    • For Enterprise, press CTRL + 1 to open the Product Information window, then CTRL + B + Q and select OK.
  3. Click Get Started and choose whether to bring all your company data or just lists and balances.
  4. If you have inventory, decide whether to track it using FIFO.
  5. Select your home currency if you're using multi-currency in your QuickBooks Desktop.
  6. Indicate if you have a QuickBooks Online account:
    • If yes, sign in and select Continue.
    • If no, choose to create an account (this will set up a trial company).
  7. Sign in with your QuickBooks Online credentials.
  8. Choose the company you want to move your data to and click Continue.
  9. Click Export and confirm replacing existing data if prompted.

Alternatively, you can use the web-based migration tool to transfer your data.
