What would cause the "use register" option from the chart of accounts to stop working?

Use register option from chart of accounts quit working

Hello @19nancy95 ,

 

Let's run the QuickBooks Utility tools so you can use and open the bank account register and its function. Doing so, QuickBooks will automatically run a quick repair and fix possible data damage on your company file.  I'll show you how.

 

A. To Verify Data

  1. Go to File.
  2. Click Utilities.
  3. Select Verify Data.
  4. Click OK.

B. To Rebuild Data

  1. Go to File.
  2. Click Utilities.
  3. Select Rebuild Data.
  4. Click OK.

Use register option from chart of accounts quit working

Yes, many people are suddenly seeing this. It does not appear to have anything to do with your company file. When a user sees this it happens in all their files.

 

On another thread, customers are posting that running QuickBooks with administrator privileges makes it work again.

 

To do this, right click the QB icon on your desktop (or start menu) and pick Run as administrator.
