I joined QBOA with an old email address and I somehow created a user id with my new email address that is not attached to any QBOA accountant. I tried to change my user id to this new email address and it tells me its already in use. I try to sign in to QBOA and it tells me there is no company or account attached to this user id. I have a client who sent me an invitation to my new email and I can't accept because my email is not attached to an account but I can't change my current user id because my email is already in use. I would really like to use my new email. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!

I'll be glad to help you with this, @heldtbooks.

We can transfer your Master Administrator role to your new email address. This way, we can associate your QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA) account to it.

Before that, here's what you need to know before you transfer the Master Administrator role to your firm.

  • The payment method for Wholesale Billing doesn't change when changing the Master Administrator. This must be done manually.
  • Non-Lead Accountants won't see the option to transfer the Master Administrator role. The Lead Accountant is the only one who can transfer the Master Administrator role.
  • To transfer the Master Administrator role, you must be logged into QuickBooks Online Accountant as the Master Administrator.
  • The Master Administrator role can only be transferred to users with Full access. To edit a user's access, check out Manage users or firm employees in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

Then, you can follow these steps:

  1. From the left menu, select Team under Your Practice.
  2. Click the user that reads Master Admin in the Access column.
  3. In the Edit user screen, select the Firm Administration and Books tab.
  4. Click Transfer Master Admin.

In addition, I've included an article in which you can check the accountant features offered in QBOA: How to access smart features in QBOA.

That's it! Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to be of assistance. Wishing you and your business continued success in all that you do.
