We are a law firm. How do I create and print a matter ledger for a client?

In QuickBooks, there isn't an option to create an individual ledger for customers and suppliers. If you want to view the customer or supplier balance, you can generate the following reports:

• For customers: Customer Balance Detail 
• For suppliers: Vendor Balance Details

Then, here's how to run the reports:

1. Go to Reports.
2. Enter the report's name in the Find report by name field.
3. Press Enter.

It's also a great idea to modify your report to focus on the details that matter the most. Refer to this link for more details: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.
