we are closing our company and i would like to know what recommendations are out there regarding our QB subscription - do i need to keep a subscription?

If you are using QBO US version, convert your data to QB Desktop and you can use the trial version to access your historical data for good.

You have the option to cancel your subscription or switch to QuickBooks Desktop, @casaclaudia.
 

Since you mention that you're closing your company, if you still need to track your financial reports associated with that account, I recommend exporting your data to Excel before cancelling.
 

If you want to switch to QuickBooks Desktop, please note that you need to subscribe first and then export your data. Alternatively, you can follow SIAB's suggestion to subscribe to a trial version.
