I mainly wanted to know what enabling the collection center will do?
Also if I enable the "do not sell to overdue customers" will it provide me with an override option? Mainly I would like to see if it has that feature as that will alert my sales team and they can check with accounting and see if we will override the sale and prompt a call to collect overdue balance.
I had this feature in a different product and it was so nice. We set up the grace period and after that a pop up note would appear that the account was past due and in order to override the hold on the account a password had to be entered. It was a very useful tool and believe it or not it was in a 20 year old program that wasa DOS based software. I would think that QB would have something like this being that it is a more current software.
If anyone can offer assistance on the Collection Center and how it works, it would be greatly appreciated.
I appreciate the complete details about our query, @Monica-BOS.
The QuickBooks Collections Center is a valuable tool that enables you to add contact notes on all past due customers and send past due statements from one place. Let me provide you with information on how this works.
To access the Collections Center, here's how:
Also, when you enable the Do Not Sell to Overdue Customers preferences, you can create an invoice but you'll not be able to save it. The only way to override it is to turn the preference off.
Here's how to set turn it on:

Does it notify you that there is a past due balance? Besides printing out statements what else does it offer?
Thank you for the follow-up regarding how the Collection Center works. I can help provide other information.
The Collections Center enables you to quickly and selectively send bulk emails to customers with overdue or almost due invoices.
The Contact column contains the customer’s phone number, so the Collections Center could serve as a great tool for a call list. You can document a phone conversation with the customer or any other internal information by clicking on the icon in the Notes/Warnings column.
However, it doesn't have the option to set up automated email alerts for customers whose accounts are nearly due and past due. You can check out the Intuit Marketplace that may offer this functionality.
That's it. Should you need other information for future use, you can visit our help site for more information: Help articles for QuickBooks Enterprise.

Can you tell me where I need to go to access the collection center? I enabled it but I don't know where to go from there to do what you indicated.
The only thing I found was a collections report under "reports". But I don't see any of the features to add notes or warnings as you indicated.
Sorry that I am not as familiar with this new tool.
