When I get an email that says login to your account to see the chat response, how do I get to that response? When I login, there is not a message center

Since the check was from a previous year, voiding it can mess up your records. However, you can enter a reversing entry to void a transaction in another period. Before doing so, I highly suggest consulting an accountant for further assistance with the process to ensure your books are accurate for your business.

Here's how to do it:

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), go to the + New option at the top left to get to the Journal Entry.
Enter the date you want to show the transaction as reversed in the Journal date field.
Enter the necessary information.
Hit Save once done.

You can go to your QuickBooks Community profile to see the response, @nbuckler.

The reason you're not able to find our reply is probably because of the broken link. Although, you can check it by logging in to our Community site and click the profile then the bell icon for the notifications or the envelope icon for the messages.

To view your posts, you can go to your profile and click Posts.

I had been chatting with quickbooks support rather than the community but thanks for the response. Maybe you can help me though. I printed a check in 2019 that I now need to void but I don't want to change my numbers from 2019. Can I somehow void the check in May 2020?
