Allow me to help share some ways to get past this error message and connect your bank account to QuickBooks successfully. 

 

First, let's make sure you can log in to your account outside QuickBooks. If you recently changed your banking credentials on your bank's website, be sure to enter your username and password directly instead of allowing the browser to auto-fill your login credentials.

 

Next, it's possible that the downloaded file is saved in a format that's not compatible with QuickBooks. To check, I recommend reaching out to your bank to verify if there are any changes in your account settings when downloading transactions.

 

Then, to determine if the issue originates with your bank or your bank's servers, you can set up and use online banking in a test company file. Let me show you how: 

 

  1. Go to File, then select New Company.
  2. Enter a name for the test file, then select Save.
  3. Fill out the required fields in the Create New Company wizard, then choose Finish.
  4. Add the account that was experiencing issues to the Chart of Accounts.
  5. Set up Online Banking for that account. 
  6. Download transactions to test the account.
