You won't be able to see the report you mentioned if the Class tracking feature was disabled in your settings. Let's check it out.
If the box is already ticked, let's check another information. Please go back to the Reports, and search for Statement of Activity. If you can't find it, search for Profit and Loss by Class instead.
Please let me know what you'll find out, and we'll continue to work on this together.
I no longer seem to have the ability to track by class (I'm trying to do a P&L sorted by class). When I follow the instructions you provide here, there is no Categories section or Track Classes option. Did something change in QB in the last year to disable that option?
There are features that are available for certain subscriptions or plans only, Pdiegel.
The Class tracking feature is only available in QuickBooks Online Plus and Advanced plans. If you can't see this option, you're likely subscribed to QuickBooks Online Simple Start or Essentials plans.
You'll want to upgrade your subscription to be able to access the Class tracking feature.
After that, you can turn on the feature by following the steps provided by JessT. You can also check this article to know more about the Class tracking feature: Get started with class tracking in QuickBooks Online.
Aside from the Profit and Loss by Class report, there are other reports that you can access when you subscribed to QuickBooks Online Plus or Advanced. You can compare the availability of the reports through this link: Reports included in your QuickBooks Online subscription.
I'll get back to you if you require further assistance in pulling up, customizing, and exporting your reports. Have a great day!

I have already mentioned this several times but I need to have an instant report that isolates precisely and tells me how much money I have spent, let's say, on my lawyers in the past year. Impossible.
How much money have I spent on a set of transactions that I have classified under a Class called Renovation of Office. Impossible.
It is nice that you are trying to upgrade your customers to a more expensive program but you are forgetting to tell them what is available and what is NOT available once they are paying more money.
