Yes, this happens when the account added has sub-accounts listed into it. At this time, this is how QuickBooks works and the only way to prevent this from happening it to link the transactions added under the sub-accounts to the parent account.
I understand the importance of removing the Other label next to the account name on the report. I'll take note of this and send feedback to our product engineers. This way, they'll be able to know the feature needed and might consider this in the coming updates.

It's the way QB shows a row for the parent account when there are sub-accounts.
OK. Thanks. So this is just QuickBooks formatting the report (i.e. so it prints out nicer)? Is there a way
to prevent this from happening?
Thanks for the help ......
OK. Thanks,
So this is an automatic formatting function by QuickBooks? Is there a way of preventing these "Other" accounts from being added to the report?
Thanks again ......

Is removing the word "other" from main accounts that have sub accounts on a road map with QuickBooks? Other than exporting and massaging the data, I cannot see a way yet. I would really like the option to remove that word.
Hi there, @jusjan77.
I understand that you want this word to be removed from mapping your account.
Since this is a default account in QuickBooks, the option to remove it isn't possible.
Alternatively, you can export a report to an excel file, then hide the information you want to exclude.
Here's an article that provides more information: Export reports into Excel from QuickBooks Desktop.
