Will QB Pro 2022 with enhanced payroll support Windows 11 ?

I need to re-subscribe to the payroll 2022 ....I don't like using the downloads, so I usually purchase a Quick books Pro With enhanced payroll & just use the payroll subscription. However, I also purchased a new computer that has Windows 11 on it....I do not see where QBPro 2022 is supported with Windows 11...Any suggestions ?

Will QB Pro 2022 with enhanced payroll support Windows 11 ?

Your confusion ends here, @1gs1.

Allow me to fill you in on everything you need to know about the operating system of QuickBooks Desktop 2022.

Any versions of QuickBooks Desktop aren't fully compatible with Windows 11. If you plan to use QuickBooks in Windows 11, your company file will likely open and may be used. However, there may be some unexpected issues with your QuickBooks software. Here are the currently supported operating systems for running QuickBooks Desktop 2022:

  • Windows 10, all editions including 64-bit, natively installed
  • Windows 8.1, all editions including 64-bit, natively installed
  • Windows Server 2019, Standard and Essentials
  • Windows Server 2016, Standard and Essentials
  • Windows Server 2012 R2, Standard and Essentials
  • Windows Server 2012, Standard and Essentials

I'm adding this article for more information: System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2022.

Will QB Pro 2022 with enhanced payroll support Windows 11 ?

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your response.  Will Quickbooks issue free support if I transfer/restore my present data to my new computer?  Will it also support the payroll subscription?

Hello, 1gs1.

If you need to restore the backup file into the new computer, you need to reinstall QuickBooks there. Otherwise, you can copy the backup in a USB stick and restore it on the location where you want to use QuickBooks.

I'll be sharing some links to help you with the process:

For your reference, I'm also adding these links below to learn more about the process of restoring data in QBDT together with the different types of files used in the system:

Will QB Pro 2022 with enhanced payroll support Windows 11 ?

Thank you for your response.   I have done the back ups and restore of files for a while now. I have been using QB for many years, however, never have I anticipated an issue from going from windows 10 to what the new computers are including...which is windows 11.   There really isn't any stated that the QBPro2022 with enhanced payroll is compatible with windows 11.   So I'm concerned on changing my computers which has windows 11 on it...and installing my current program of qbpro 2022 with enhanced payroll.   I would hate to after I restore everything and make the change to the new computer that it all goes flurry on me.   Thoughts ?

Will QB Pro 2022 with enhanced payroll support Windows 11 ?

Hi there, 1gs1.

I appreciate you for coming back to the thread to add some clarification about your concern. With this, I'll be sharing further details on how Windows 11 works. Then, ensure that you'll be able to use your QuickBooks Desktop 2022 without any problem.

At the moment, no supported version of QuickBooks Desktop (Pro Plus, Premier Plus, Pro, Premier Enterprise, or Accountant) is certified as fully compatible with Windows 11. However, Microsoft released the Windows 11 operating system on October 5, 2021, and Intuit is working to ensure QuickBooks Desktop 2022 products will work as designed. We plan to complete the compatibility certification process soon.

As mentioned above, if you select to use Windows 11, your company file will likely open and may be used. There may be some unexpected issues with your QuickBooks software. Rest assured, our team is working to ensure compatibility and will share any new information as soon as possible when the compatibility certification process is complete.

For now, to keep your software up-to-date so you'll be able to run QuickBooks Desktop 2022 smoothly, I suggest using the compatible one which is stated in this article: System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2022. This is to ensure that you'll be able to file taxes without any issues.

Lastly, you may refer to this article to view different details on what features are included in the QuickBooks Desktop 2022 release and how you can use them to benefit your business: What’s new in QuickBooks Desktop 2022.

Stay in touch if you have other questions about QuickBooks system requirements. Have a good one. Take care!

Will QB Pro 2022 with enhanced payroll support Windows 11 ?

@1gs1

You should be able to clean install Windows 10 with the Windows 11 OEM license key that the PC comes with - so should not have to buy another license or disc as you can make your own Windows 10 Install USB/CD using Windows 10 MCT or other sources. Then later you should be able to upgrade to Win 11 when QB Desktop supports it natively.
