Rename the Qbprint.qbp file

by Intuit2 Updated 4 months ago

You may encounter an error or experience unexpected results when printing transactions or reports in QuickBooks. Renaming the QBPrint.qbp file can resolve this issue.

What is QBprint.qbp?
  • QBprint.qbp contains information about printer set up and customization of your forms.
  • It contains a data line for each form in QuickBooks Desktop.
  • It has separate lines for different QuickBooks transactions like invoices and journal entries.
  • When you print a form, QuickBooks Desktop pulls the form settings from Qbprint.qbp and uses them to print the form.
  • Changes that you made on the Printer Setup window or the Print One Form window reflect on the QBprint.qbp file.
  • If you rename the Qbprint.qbp file, QuickBooks Desktop creates a new file from default settings. All customized settings are lost.

Renaming the file is the preferred troubleshooting as you can rename the old file and recover your custom settings.
