Add and match Bank Feed transactions

May I ask how you bank transactions were downloaded into QuickBooks? One possible reason you’re getting the System.XML.XMLException. Root element is missing error while working with the bank feeds is because of an interruption during the importing process.

To fix the error, let’s apply the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Update your QuickBooks to the latest release.
2. Back up the QuickBooks company file.
3. Delete and re-import the bank transactions again.
   • If the error persists, proceed to step 4.
4. Download the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool.
5. Save the file to the local Desktop when prompted.
6. Close any open programs.
7. Run the QBInstall Tool.
8. Restart the computer after running the tool.
