Welcome to the Community, Cody. Thank you for reaching out to us here—we’re thrilled to have you join us. The Match button in the Action column appears when QuickBooks Online (QBO) successfully identifies matching entries. I'll explain how this works and provide some steps to help you.
QBO matches transactions based on the amount, bank account, and date. To ensure a match, verify that the bank account used for the deposit corresponds to the one associated with the downloaded entry. Also, note that it will only be recognized if it's within 90 days before or 20 days after the transaction date.
If the deposit isn’t automatically recognized, you can manually search for it using the Find other matches option. Here's how:
- Select Transactions in the left pane.
- Choose Bank transactions and click the correct bank tile.
- In the For review tab, locate the entry and select Match in the Match/Categorize column.

- Select the appropriate date range in the From and To fields. You can also specify the type in the Filter by dropdown to narrow down the results.
- Look for the deposit and tick its checkbox.
- Click Match.

If the transaction falls within the specified period and still doesn’t appear as a match, I recommend refreshing the page or logging out and back into QBO to resolve the issue.
With the information above, you should be able to match your financial activities accordingly. If you have additional questions regarding this process, don’t hesitate to jump back into this thread. I’m here to ensure everything goes smoothly for your business.
