After reconciling a Credit Card account I want to Enter a bill to pay later

Hello,

I'm trying to get a better idea of my cash flow and when bills are due.

After I reconcile a credit card account I want to enter a bill to pay later on the due date.  After the reconciliation I choose "Enter a bill to pay later".  It seems to enter a bill that shows a correct due date but it also deducts the amount of the CC register.  Like it's already paid.

The CC Balance in the register should still reflect the balance due until it's actually paid.  What am I doing wrong?

I found this but don't understand why it would move the balance.

Enter a bill to pay later: Moves the balance in the credit card account to Accounts Payable so you can pay it later.

Thank you for your help.

After reconciling a Credit Card account I want to Enter a bill to pay later

Hello,

If the date on the bill (NOT the due date, but the actual date) is today, it will show the balance in the CC as being decreased on that day.

If you want to use a bill for your credit card payment, then date the bill the day you want the balance reflected as being decreased in your credit card register.
