Bank Feeds for multiple currencies

I am trying to download a QBO file (which I got using csv2qbo) with EUR transactions and download them to a EUR account that I already have set up in Quickbooks. Unfortunately when I try to import the QBO file it gives me an error message that "download statement is only available for US Dollar accounts." Is it impossible to use Bank Feeds for non US banks? Please advise.

Thank you,

Bank Feeds for multiple currencies

Thanks for visiting QuickBooks Community, Mitch2.

Did you try to download the EUR bank transactions via Web connect directly from the Bank Feeds center? As long as you turned on the Multi-currency feature in QuickBooks Desktop, you should be able to bring in foreign bank transactions.

Rather than downloading them through the Bank Feeds center, you need to import the data using an IIF file. Please note that the Online Banking for QuickBooks is designed for US dollar currency.

First, download and install the .IIF import kit to easily transfer data within different platforms.  Here’s how:

  1. Click Download Kit button.
  2. Select the Save button to download the file to your Windows desktop.
  3. Use WinZip or any compatible file compression utility to extract the contents of the downloaded file. The contents will automatically extract into a subfolder called .IIF Import Kit.
  4. Open the IIF Import Kit folder to view its contents.

To import your bank transactions:

  1. Sign in to your company file as an Admin.
  2. Make sure you are in Single User mode.
  3. From the QuickBooks File menu, select Utilities, then click Import and IIF Files.
  4. Locate your .IIF file and highlight it then choose Open.
  5. Click OK on the pop-up message confirming your data has been imported.

That’s it! You’ll now be able to see your EUR transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.
