Banking balance mobile update

I can't figure out how to update my bank balance when using the mobile version. When I owned an iphone I just swiped down the screen and the banking synced. I cannot do that with my android. Is there a way to sync my bank balance?

Banking balance mobile update

Good day, lyndak.

I can share some insights about updating the bank balance in QuickBooks Online (QBO) for Mobile (Android Phone or Tablet).

The QBO mobile app is a simplified version of the program. I can see how many customers would benefit if they can easily update the bank balance in QBO for Android Phone or Tablet.

Right now, you can manually refresh bank feeds in QBO for iPhone and iPad. However, this feature hasn’t been integrated in QBO for Android Phone or Tablet.

I can see how useful this feature would be for you, so I’ve forwarded a request to our Product Developers. I'd appreciate it if you could also share your suggestions to them. Your contribution is a big help with getting this feature added in QBO mobile for Android Phone and Tablet.

Here’s how to send feedback:

In QBO for browser:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Feedback.

In QBO mobile:

  1. Click the three dots at the top.
  2. Select Feedback.

You can also check this article for more details about QBO mobile app: QuickBooks Online mobile app feature comparison.

Please reach out to me if there is anything else I can help you with. I'll always be here to assist you. Have a great day.

Hi there, EZVik.

As of now, manually refreshing bank feeds in your mobile app (Android) is unavailable. Your app will still follow automatic downloads and categorizes your bank and credit card transactions every night.

Like you, I’m sure other users would like to have this feature as well. I’ll make sure to personally share this preference to our developers for future updates.

Hi MikiD,

the app does updates somewhere afternoon or even closer to evening (EST) and not in the night. E.g. I checked the balance at 8 AM today and it informed me that the data was updated 14 hours ago (somewhere at 6 PM yesterday). This doesn't make any sense since banks update statements at 12 AM.  And so the backlog is basically two days as I will be able to see the yesterday's balance after 6 PM today. But I don't need it that late.

I'm OK with not having the today's balance, but I'd happy to know my actual balance right in the morning.

Sorry to inform you, Intuit, but this issue is NOT solved. It's been a year since this problem was reported. ItsI sad that the iOS version of the app has the ability to update bank accounts while the Android version does not. It's frankly a joke that the Android version was created WITHOUT this capability in the first place. As a software developer for over 20 years, I can't see how Intuit would think it's a good idea to NOT have this feature in any version of it's app from the very start. It's one of THE core features that customers would EXPECT to be included in the app, regardless of whether it's for iOS or Android!

The person who posted the "solution" to this thread mentioned something about forwarding this feature request to the "product developers"... Well??? When is it going to be available? What is the hold up??? Is there ANY place where Intuit posts upcoming feature releases so customers can monitor this and know when it's expected to be available?

I certainly understand where you’re coming from, Bsfedor.

Android devices have major differences from IOS. This is because they’re both running on different Operating Systems and are made by two different companies.

This is why some features in Android are unavailable in IOS and vice versa. One of these is the option to be able to manually refresh bank feeds. We’ve already sent this request to our developers, but In your behalf, i will personally submit another one. Like you, i'm also hoping to have this feature in our upcoming updates.

Right now, we don’t have any specific date as to when it’s going to be available. Though, the most recent feature changes are posted in this blog: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/blog/

You might want utilize the regular web browser for now  when updating the bank transactions manually. Check this out to learn more about your mobile app function availability: Compare mobile app.

Seriously?? This was a problem noticed back in 2018 and still hasn't been remedied? Horrible support for this app. I've been extremely disappointed with QBO and you are making MORE money with 1yr of QBO than if someone just bought the desktop version. Seriously quickbooks... Get your crap together with QBO.

I would also like to be able to update my transactions when using my Android device.

I am working on QB online and we have downloaded bank transactions through the end of March (this was done from the app on a iphone) and if I go to the bank statement to reconcile it shows the correct bank balance, but the bank balance in the blue box on the first page of the banking tab did not change.  How can I get this number changed so it shows it is in balance on the Banking page?

Email me at [email address removed].  Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!!!

I sincerely welcome you to our Community forum. Thank you for choosing QuickBooks to help you run your business activities. I'm happy to provide some information about the banking balance in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Since the system doesn't have access to the records of your actual bank, it won't recognize the bank balance if you manually download bank transactions using a CSV file in QuickBooks Online. If your bank is integrated with QBO, I advise clicking Update so the bank balance will sync and be tracked. Here's how:

  1. Click the Banking tab. Ensure the correct account is highlighted in blue.
  2. Click Update and wait for any new transactions to import.
