Bills paid with credit card

Occasionally some of the bills I end up posting get paid with our credit card that we download in to QuickBooks.  I have not yet figured out how to get the bills marked as paid and the job costing switched to the credit card when we pay off multiple invoices with one credit card transaction.

Bills paid with credit card

I'm glad you posted your question here in the Community, kkelley.

Two heads are better than one, so I'd be delighted to help you figure this one out.

Just to clarify, this one credit card transaction, does it include the payment you received for the job costing invoices? Or, is it only for the bills that you've paid?

If it's only the total of your bill payments, then you may only match it to the bills to mark them as paid. Let me walk you through the steps on how to do it:

  1. From the Banking menu, select Bank Feeds.
  2. Choose Bank Feeds Center.
  3. Make sure to select the correct Bank Account, then click Transaction List.
  4. Check the transaction, then from the Action drop-down menu, choose Select Bills to Mark as Paid.
  5. Enter the Vendor.
  6. Select the corresponding bills that need to be paid, then click Add to QuickBooks.

From there, you could record a payment for the invoices to mark them as paid.

On the other hand, if it's for both the bills and invoices, then we can match it a bit differently:

  1. Go back to the Bank Feeds Center (Banking > Bank Feeds > Bank Feeds Center).
  2. Select the correct Bank Account, then click Transaction List.
  3. Check the transaction, then from the Action drop-down menu, choose Match to Existing Transactions.
  4. Select all the appropriate transactions (bills and invoices) to be matched.
  5. Click Confirm Match.

I'm including a great article with more in-depth information about this: Use and customize form templates

I want to ensure that this is taken care of for you, so please let me know how it goes by posting a reply. Cheering you and your business to continued success.
