Cam I undo previously reconciled bank accounts and redo?

Allow me to share details about undoing previous reconciliation, oilquik.

The Undo feature for the reconciled period is only available in QuickBooks Online Accountant. I suggest inviting an accountant to undo the reconciled transactions.

Here's how:

  1. From the Gear icon, select Manage Users.
  2. Go to the Accounting firms tab, and click the Invite button.
  3. Enter the accountant's information.
  4. Click Save.

Otherwise, you'll want to undo the reconciled transactions one at a time. Let me guide you with the steps:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Find the account and then click View register
  3. Select the transaction you want to unreconcile.
  4. Review the check () column. If the transaction is reconciled, you’ll see an R.
  5. Click the box until it's blank.
  6. Once done, click on Save.
  7. Click Yes on the prompt message.

Additionally, I've included our reconciliation guide for reference. This article helps you ensure your QuickBooks accounts match your real-life bank statements.

Once done reconciling, you can also print your reconciliation report. This way, you'll have a handy copy of your data for future use.

You can always click the Reply button if you need further help in unreconciling your accounts. Doing so helps us to assist you further.

Cam I undo previously reconciled bank accounts and redo?

I do make reconciliation from July 01, 2020 up to January, 2021. everything is good but las week I do make some changes in some accts code that affects so much all my previously reconciled months. I would like to undo and redo everything. Do I need to undo first all the month from July to January then redo it again?

Cam I undo previously reconciled bank accounts and redo?

Hello @ghie930,

Yes, it is recommended to undo and redo your account reconciliation from the latest to the oldest session where you've identified the discrepancy. It may take a lot of work but rest assured, it'll help you determine why your account reconciliation is off and fix it accordingly.

In the same manner, here's an article you can read to learn more about how to undo a reconciled transaction: Undo or remove transactions from reconciliations in QuickBooks Online.

However, I'd still recommend contacting your accountant for additional assistance. With their QuickBooks Online Accountant account, it can undo a reconciliation session in one go. If you haven't yet, here's a link you can use to find someone near you: Find an accountant or bookkeeper.

On top of that, I've also included this reference for a compilation of articles you can use while working with us: Banking for QuickBooks Self-Employed.

If there's anything else that I can help you with, please let me know in the comments below. I'll be here to lend a hand.

Thank you for joining the thread, @Asaffer.

I'd like to share ideas about reconciliation.

The reconciliation report won't disappear in QuickBooks even after removing the R status. You can correct the balances and create a new reconciliation instead.

Also, I recommend you get in touch with your accountant to remove the report or undo the reconciliation, if needed.

Here are some handy articles that you can read:

After that, you'll learn about the workflow of reconciliation and how to fix issues related to it.
