Hello, rpurkiss.

Yes, you are capable of doing so. You can create a new account and make sure it has the correct currency, as suggested by my colleague above. Then manually enter the transactions.

After that, you can remove the existing bank account's transactions. If you have a large number of transactions to record, this may take some time, but we guarantee it will work.

I also recommend contacting your accountant, since they may have a different perspective on the situation. If you don't already have one, use this link to look for an accountant near you: Find a ProAdvisor.

In addition, I've included this article to walk you through the entire process of ensuring that your QuickBooks Balance matches your bank and credit card statements: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Please don't hesitate to add any details below if you have further questions about currency or managing your transactions. We're always here to help.

Thanks for joining the Community, rpurkiss.

Currency settings can't be changed on an already existing account, however you can set them up appropriately when creating new accounts.

Here's how:

  1. In your left navigation bar, go to Accounting, then Chart of Accounts.
  2. Click New ▼.
  3. Choose its Category Type.
  4. Enter a Name for the account.
  5. Pick your Currency.
  6. Select Save and close.

You'll also want to be aware that the only category types which can use multicurrency are bank, credit card, and receivable/payable accounts.

I've included a detailed resource about working with Multicurrency which may come in handy moving forward: Learn about Multicurrency

I'll be here to help if there's any additional questions. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Thank you for answering.  In order to assure the account is accurate at this point, can I set up the new account as you suggested and then enter all transactions made to date manually and then delete the previous one now in existence?  (I am a true noob on QB currently taking a course)  I appreciate your help!
