Can I edit bank account after bank take over by other bank

You cannot work in the QBO Bank Acct or you cannot log into the new bank with your old User ID & Password?

If it is that you cannot log in, odds are you need to get new credentials from the new bank.  You'll also need to Deactivate the old Bank Feed info and put in the new information you get from the new bank.

If you really cannot access the Bank Acct within QBO, can you give us more details?  Any errors messages?  Can you view the account and just not write new checks, etc.?

Ask and you shall receive, @europlatect.

If you'd like to edit the account's register details within QuickBooks Online (QBO), the instructions below will help you do so:

Editing a Bank Register

  1. From QuickBooks Online, click the Gear icon (⚙) and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Next to the Bank Register account you'd like to edit, click the drop-down ▼ and select Edit.
  3. Now you can adjust the Name, Detail Type, and Account Number for the Bank Register at will.

You can learn more about this from our guide on editing your Chart of Accounts or from the video tutorial I'm including below:

By doing this, you can update the bank register's information following the take-over. If this account was set up as a Bank Feed so that transactions would automatically be downloaded, there will be a few extra steps necessary to getting things rolling again.

Since the transactions are now being recorded and stored on the other bank's website, you'll need to restart your connection with their URL. Here's how:

Reconnecting a Bank Feed

  1. From QuickBooks Online, navigate to the Banking tab and click on the Bank Account that's being taken over.
  2. Click the tiny Pencil icon ✎ and select Edit Account Info. Check the box to Disconnect account on save and click Save and close.
  3. Head back to the Banking tab and select Add account. Search for the new bank and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new connection.

We also offer a detailed guide on connecting your bank account that I'm sure you'll find helpful. With these instructions, you can rest assured that your bank being taken over won't cause any major delays in your QuickBooks tasks.
