Hi there, tomzazarino.

Can you tell us if you're a developer? Can you also tell us where did you receive your QbXML file? I just want to make sure that we're giving you the right steps and information to address your question.

Please add a reply below to share more details. We look forward to it.

No I am not a developer.  I am a user that had someone doing edits of entries that I no longer want.  I received the QBXML file from QB in moving from files from an online account to a desktop version.

What I simply trying to do, it restore my data back to what it was on May 31, 2022 with no entries and no edits.

The tool converts your data as is. You will need to run a new conversion process to reflect any previous changes.

Is there a solution to only dump the date from entries date with a xx begin date to an xx end date ?

Utilize a deleter tool to remove your transactions in bulk before running the conversion process again.

Utilize the trial version of a backup restore app beforehand.

Hi, @tomzazarino. I'm stepping into the thread to share with you some additional workarounds on how you can move your data the way you need to.

First, you can modify the dates of the entries from QuickBooks Online (QBO) to customize the information. Here's how:

  1. Log in to QBO.
  2. Go to the Gear icon, then tap on Export data under Tools.
  3. Under Export data, pick the reports or lists you want to export.
  4. Select Custom under Pre-selected date ranges.
  5. Set the start and end dates of the data you want to dump to QBDT.
  6. Hit on Export to Excel.

For your reports and other transactions:

  1. Click on Reports on the left pane, then pick the report/s you need.
  2. Filter the dates, then tap on Export to Excel from the Export drop-down.
  3. Do the same steps for the rest of the reports.

After that, you can manually import the files to QBDT.

Otherwise, you can remove the unwanted changes after May 31, 2022, before exporting the data to QBDT.

Once done, you can now get started working with QBDT.

If you have follow-up questions while exporting or importing your data, notify me by adding a comment below. I'm more than happy to help you again. Keep safe!
