Re: Can I move transactions fron one credit card to another on same account?

Hello, @mactowingandhaul.

Good to see you here in the QuickBooks Community. Let me help guide you on how to move transactions with a different account.

If you created the transactions manually, you can update the account to the correct one in the bank register. Let me walk you through the steps:

  1. From the left menu, select Accounting and choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. Locate the appropriate account for the transaction.
  3. From the Action column, select View Register.
  4. Select the transaction you want to edit to open the fields.
  5. Enter your changes.

For additional reference, you can check this article on how to add or edit transactions in a register (or account history).

However, if the transactions are downloaded from you bank, you have to exclude them from the current account and import a file from your financial institution into the correct one. For additional information on this, including steps, please see the following articles:

If you need further assistance with the steps, I recommend to contact our QuickBooks Online Support Team. They have additional tools to pull up your account and do a screen-share.

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help (question mark icon) at the top right.
  3. Select Contact us to connect with a live support agent.

This will get you on the right track. Feel free to leave a comment below if you have additional questions about updating the transactions account. I'm always here to help.
