Can I remove an old bank account without it removing any of the reviewed transactions?

For example. We had to shut down an account and so I would like to just remove it, but I am scared that transactions that have already been reviewed will also be deleted.

Can I remove an old bank account without it removing any of the reviewed transactions?

Hi there, @beth41.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. When deleting your old bank account in QuickBooks Online, it won't affect any transactions including the Reviewed tab they will still remain in your QuickBooks account. Let me walk you through on how to delete it.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ and choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. Find the account you want to delete.
  3. Under the Action ▼ drop-down view register and tap Make inactive

When you run reports, you’ll still see inactive accounts and their transactions. You can customize some reports to hide inactive accounts, but this may affect the accuracy.

I've got you an article for more details about how to remove your old account: Delete an account on your chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know if you need further assistance. I’m always here to help. Enjoy your day!
