It’s nice to see you in the Community, @dcharlier.

Yes, you can disconnect the accounts from online banking in QuickBooks Online. Doing so removes the option for the program to automatically import entries from your financial institution. It also deletes any transactions in the For Review tab of the Banking screen.

Here’s how to stop the connection between QBO and your credit card account:

  1. Go to Banking, then choose Banking.
  2. Click the pencil icon on the account you want to disconnect.
  3. In the Account window, scroll down and place a checkmark in the box next to Disconnect this account on save.
  4. Hit Save and Close.

Please follow the same steps to cut the connection between QuickBooks with the rest of the credit cards. For the details, I recommend checking out this article: Disconnect or delete an account from the Downloaded Transactions page.

Once done, you can start uploading entries manually. I’m adding this resource to serve as your guide: Manually import transactions into QuickBooks Online.

In quickbooks online it's easy.  You just need to disconnect the account from the bank feed.  Here is the article on that.

Can I un-sync my credit card accounts between QB and the CC? I much rather upload a .qbo file instead of letting QB speak with my CC.

Thank you for the quick response.  Everything seemed to work. One other question if you do not mind.  So now under the Banking tab, It no longer shows my Credit Card. So when I am ready to upload the files, I would do the same however look for my CC when assigning an account?

Thanks again,

Daryl

Hi there, @dcharlier.

I'm glad it all worked for you. Let me help you to activate the credit card. Doing so will show up your credit card when selecting an account in QuickBooks Online.

Let me show you how:

  1. Go to Accounting.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. From the Credit Card, drop-down arrow under View Register, and select make active.

Once Active, you can view your assigned Credit Card in QuickBooks Account.

I've also added an article for you that will help in the future about Entering opening balance for accounts in QuickBooks Online.

Perfect.  It was already active so all is good.  We will see how it goes next week when I upload Decembers statements into the system.  Thanks again for the assistance.

Daryl
