Hi @SLewis60,

I'll take care of this query for you.

The option to merge QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) company files is unavailable at this time. If you want to remove duplicate transactions, I'll share the steps you can take to proceed.

In Register mode, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Highlight Bank Feeds, then select Bank Feeds Center.
  3. Locate the statement in question from the Items Received From Financial Institution section, then press View
  4. Match the appropriate transactions, and select Done to match them.
  5. Hit Yes in the Not Finished Matching screen.
  6. Find and select the same statement from the Items Received From Financial Institution sectionThen click Delete.

It's necessary to delete the statement since it prevents those duplicate transactions from showing up the next time you download a statement. More details on this process are in this article: Remove duplicate transactions in QuickBooks Desktop

To ensure that your bank account's balance is accurate, you can reconcile it. Follow the steps in this article: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Desktop.

Ryan, thank you.

Maybe I should have started with the problem. The problem that I have is that I am missing transactions for this year and last year. I don't know how to get them without starting over. I have a lot of rules that I created and I am afraid that if I start over I will to manually enter, or create new rules.

As to your previous thread, I don't see anywhere "items received from financial"?

Thanks for your time.

Hey there, SLewis60.

Thanks for stopping by the Community today. I'm more than happy to provide some insight into this for you. There are a couple options you have, either manually enter the transactions or you could check out our QuickBooks App store for an app that can automatically bring your transactions over for you. If you want to manually enter the transactions yourself you can follow these steps below:

Step 1: Download transactions to QuickBooks

Depending on how you’ve connected to your bank, there are different ways to download your transactions.  Here’s how to download transactions to QuickBooks Desktop.

Step 2: Review and match transactions

QuickBooks will separate your transactions into 3 categories based on the information gathered from your bank's transactions and what’s in QuickBooks. Depending on the banking mode you’re using the steps will be different.

To review your transactions:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select Bank Feeds and select Bank Feeds Center and review the transactions in each category.

I would also recommend checking out this article, it highlights the steps above as well as adds a more in depth look at the steps and additional options.

If there's anything else I can help with or if you have any other questions, feel free to post here anytime. Thank you and have a lovely afternoon.

@SLewis60

Utilize one of these importer tools. During the process, they may track for any duplication data
