Can someone please help? I linked my main checking account but forgot to link the 2 other accounts associated with it. How can I link?

I tried to link but because it's the same user and password it just puts me right back to main checking. Do I have to delete and start over?

Welcome to the Community, JD. I appreciate your efforts to link your bank accounts and know how important it is for tracking your financial activities. Let's clear up any confusion and get everything set up correctly.

When you link your main checking account, are you referring to the parent account? If so, linking the two other associated accounts is not possible. Please note that you cannot connect both the parent account and its subaccounts.

It's important to know how your bank sends the transaction data. If all transactions are downloaded into one account, link the parent account. If the transactions are separate for each account, link the subaccounts instead of the parent account. For more information, you can visit this resource: Connect the accounts to Online Banking.

On the other hand, if the main checking account is a subaccount, you can link the other two associated accounts using the Link account option on the Banking page.

Here are the steps to link the other two subaccounts:

  1. Go to Transactions, then Bank transactions.
  2. Click the Link account.
  3. Enter the URL or name of your bank in the Search field, then click the bank.
  4. Type in your credentials in the Login and Password fields, then click Continue.
  5. Select the two accounts you want to connect and choose the type of account from the Account type drop-down list.
  6. Set the date to pull transactions, then click Connect.

After linking your bank accounts, you can utilize this helpful resource to guide you in categorizing your downloaded bank transactions. It contains a step-by-step guide to help you organize your transactions, whether they are income, expenses, or another category: Choose the right category.
