Great job for following the steps on how to reconnect your bank in QuickBooks Online.

 

Let's perform other troubleshooting steps by logging in to the bank's website through QuickBooks. The issue may be on their end and that's why you're unable to reconnect your financial institution (FI).

 

To do so, please follow the steps listed below for your guidance:

  1. Go to Banking from the left navigation bar.
  2. Click Add account.

  3. Search your bank and click it.
  4. Copy the URL and paste it on the other tab.

  5. Then, sign in using your bank's username and password.

When you're able to sign in, you're halfway there. Check for any messages, notifications, or alerts. Any display can potentially block QuickBooks from connecting and downloading transactions.

 

If you make changes on their website, you also need to update QuickBooks as well. This will help the system to recognize the information easily when reconnecting your FI.

 

Here's how to update your account in QuickBooks:

  1. Go back to the Banking page.
  2. Select your bank, then click the pencil icon to edit.

  3. Select Edit sign-in info.

  4. Enter the new Login and Password info, then click Save and connect.

Hi friend

 

Still can't work it out.   The account is there but it isn't updated.  I tried to sign in again to our bank of america.  after connection to bank, it is still not able to update.

Currently, we have an on-going issue where users, like you, are unable to establish a connection with your Bank of America accounts.

 

Rest assured that we've already informed our engineering team about this and they're in all hands working for a fix as soon as possible. As of this time, we're unable to provide the specific workaround that'll let you reconnect your bank account.

 

Thus said, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Support so you'll be added to the list of affected users. Once you've been added to the list, you'll receive all available updates about this on-going issue through your email. To contact our dedicated support:

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter Unable to Reconnect Bank Account in the What can we help you with? field.
  4. Click Let's talk.
  5. Select Get a callback, Chat, or Call us.
