Cant connect bank

Hello there, ptwindsor.

 

Let me help ensure you're able to connect your bank with your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. 

 

Before we start, there are some questions I would need to ask to verify the situation. Are you trying to connect your bank to QBO for the first time? Or do you need to update your account with your latest transactions?

 

Here are the possible reasons why you can't connect your bank. 

  • Bank has multiple names on our list. 
  • The bank is performing system maintenance. 
  • There are notifications on your bank’s website that need your attention.
  • The bank isn't a participating financial institution.

 

If you want to add your bank, I'd suggest using your bank website's URL. Go to your bank's website, copy the URL and then paste it in the Enter your bank name or URL box. This ensures you're using the correct link of your bank and connects the right account.

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select Add account.
  3. Paste your bank's URL in the Enter your bank name or URL search box.
  4. Hit the Enter key.
  5. Enter your User ID and Password for the financial institution website.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Follow the onscreen instructions.
  8. Select Connect.

 

On the other hand, if you're account isn't updating with your latest transactions, you can manually update your bank account. To do this, go to the Banking menu, then select the Update button to refresh your bank's connection to QuickBooks.

 

In case there are notifications on your bank’s website that need your attention, sign in to your bank's website to review them. If you make changes to your account, update the same information in your QuickBooks account. Once you've successfully connected your bank, QuickBooks automatically downloads your transactions. All you need to add and categorize them.
