I fixed it this way. When you try to connect your capital account do not choose “Capital One” but search and choose from the search the one that reads “Capital One Visa Business Platinium Card by Capital One- Credit Cards”. It’s working for me. I have Spark Business Credit Card.

Capital one connection error code 590

Hello there, @Clyde1.

Thank you for posting in the Community. I'm here to help share some updates about the Capital One connection error code 590.

Currently,  there are reports that QuickBooks Online is not able to connect to Capital One, and our engineering team is investigating this error message you're seeing in the bank feed.

When you get the error 590, it means that the bank's sign-in window was closed out while attempting to add the new connection or it took too long to verify the Google reCAPTCHA.

In the meantime, you can try these steps to get your transactions:

  1. Sign in to your bank's website.
  2. Select the date range of transactions you want.
  3. Choose one of the following supported file types - Comma-Separated Values (CSV), Quicken (QFX), QuickBooks Online (QBO), or Microsoft Money (OFX).
  4. Download the file to your computer. Please take note of the file name and the location where you download it.
  5. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account to upload the file.
  6. On the left pane, select Banking then select the Banking tab.
  7. At the top right, select File Upload from the drop-down.
  8. Click Browse and select the file you saved.

For more details about this process, I recommend checking this article: Upload more than 90 days of bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

These resources should help to get you on the right track for connecting to Capital One.

I also suggest calling our phone support to add your company details to the affected users' list. This will also sign you up to receive email updates as soon as they become available.

We appreciate your patience while we're investigating this. I'm just a post away if you have any other questions about connecting to Capital One. I'll be happy to help you out.

Mine is a Union Plus card and I searched for it the same way. It works great now. Thanks for the good information!

We have had error code 590 for over 3 months. I am a bookkeeper for numerous businesses and used to recommend QB. I am very unhappy with this not being resolved and QB unwillingness to credit our account. They told me this is not a promised part of the service and therefore they are not liable to ensure it works. Are you kidding!? I cannot connect our Capital One or Wells Fargo. I had to use the workaround to enter over 1,000 transactions and the day I used their workaround it was having issues uploading. This resulted in duplicates coming through as the support team had me try this several times. I could not complete taxes in time this year. So not only are we paying man labor hours to enter everything manually, taking 3-4 times longer but also have Federal and State penalties for late filings as a direct result of this issue. We are looking into other services for several of my clients.

Thanks for joining this thread, 20 Year User.

Allow me to help provide some additional updates about connecting to the Wells Fargo bank account to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

This isn't the kind of customer service we want you to experience. Part of our job is to provide an excellent customer service in a manner that your experience is marked as outstanding.

I've checked the investigation status about this issue, and it was already resolved. However, since some customers are still seeing the same error, our engineers reopen the investigation to dig deeper as to what’s causing the error to reoccur.

While we're continuing to work on resolving this issue, for the meantime you can use the WebConnect feature to download the bank transaction from your bank website and import them into QuickBooks Online.

For additional reference, you can check this article on how to exclude the duplicate transactions downloaded from your bank website: What to do if you can’t find downloaded bank transactions.

Rest assured, we’ll keep you posted once the issue is resolved. If you’ve been added to the list of the affected users, you’ll be notified through email.

We appreciate your patience as we work through this. I'm always here to help if you have any other questions about downloading banking transaction. Have a good one.

Hi brandoncopley,

Thank you for bringing this to us.

As I've checked our investigation lists, we've already resolve this error 590 with Capital One bank not long ago.

The bank's resolution states that user name and password must be matched when attempting to connect the Capital One account. If you have more than one account, please ensure you are using the correct user name and password for the account you are connecting to.

We can connect the account again so you can start matching your bank transactions.

If the account you're trying to connect is already connected to an account, let's disconnect it:

  1. Go to the Banking tab.
  2. Select the Capital One account, click on the pencil icon and click on Edit info.
  3. In the Account detail window, check the Disconnect this account on save box.
  4. Click on Save and Close.

Otherwise, here's how to connect it:

  1. From the Banking page, click on Add account.
  2. Enter the website's page.
  3. Sign in and enter your Capital One's login credentials.
  4. Follow the instruction to connect the bank account.

Once done, QuickBooks will automatically downloads 90 days worth of transactions. Go ahead and delete those duplicates. Then, match/add those are not to reconcile your account.

Let us know if you've got more banking questions. We are here to help.

Thanks, It appears the issue is that we have 2 capital one accounts and 3 cards.

We connected "capital one + credit card" account type twice and this appeared to throw things off. When I kept logging in, I was having issues with account #2, but was using account 1's credentials. That was not clear in the error messaging, because I was trying to connect 9274, but it was connecting 7067 and 6087.

We have just logged in now with the correct user for 9274, but the new error shows up:

"Something unexpected happened and we can’t connect to Capital One - Credit Cards.

Try again in a few hours. (7500)"

We've tried connecting to Capital One - Banking and we see the following error:

"We found the right bank but still need to find the right transactions there.

Let's search the list of banks to find the specific one that has your transactions. (107)" - This leads us to an endless loop

It appears this account is still not connecting and staying connected but I can delete the account and reconnect whenever I need to it seems. Just frustrating.

Thanks for the update, @brandoncopley.

Disconnecting an account might download duplicate transactions once you reconnect it.

Allow me to share additional information why you're getting these errors when connecting Capital One and cards to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You need to know how your financial institution (FI) sends the downloaded transactions before connecting multiple bank accounts to QBO.

If transactions download to one account, connect only the parent. Otherwise, connect the sub-accounts if they download them to the individual account.

I've added this article to learn more about setting up FI with multiple sub-accounts: Set up the Parent and Sub-accounts. Using this link will help you connect and reconcile your Chart of Accounts in QBO.

Update me by leaving a comment below on how everything turns out, @brandoncopley. I'm always around whenever you need help.
