Change a reconciled transfer entry to an expense account

How do I edit a transfer transaction that I downloaded from the bank feeds and just realized it should be an expense?  I already reconciled the month so I don't want to delete and re-enter it as an expense.

Thanks for choosing QuickBooks, Dee155.

 

For now, you'll have to delete the transfer transaction in QuickBooks Desktop. Editing them isn't possible. But before doing that, I suggest reaching out to your accountant for other ways on how to change the transaction. Moreover, you can follow these steps below.

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select Bank Feeds and then Bank Feeds Center.
  3. In the Items Reviewed section, select the account with the transactions you want to remove.
  4. Select Items to Delete.
  5. Select the transactions you want to delete.
  6. Select Delete Selected. Then select Yes to confirm.

Once done, you can re-enter the transaction
