Check Register pop up

How do you change the default for the Check Register? Right now the pop up always goes to a certain account and I would like to switch it to a different account.

I appreciate following the solution provided by my colleague and letting us know the result.

The arrangement of accounts displayed in the Use Register drop-down is based on the Chart of Accounts page. We’ll have to rearrange the order and make sure Checking 1 is listed at the top.

This way, it’s the account that will automatically show in the Select Account drop-down. When performing this task, make sure you're not using the Flat View mode.

To check:

  1. Go to Lists at the top menu bar to choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. Click the Account drop-down at the bottom of the page.
  3. Make sure Hierarchical View is selected.

Once done, you can start updating the order. Here’s how:

  1. Go to Lists at the top menu bar to choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. From there, hover your mouse to Checking 1 and drag it to the top.coa order.png
  3. Next, go back to the Home Page and click the Check Register icon.
  4. The account that will show first is going to be Checking 1.coa order.1.png

Check Register pop up

Hey, @stratz

It's great to see a new face here in the Community. I can point you in the right direction of how to change the default account for the Check Register pop-up.

Don't worry. It only takes a few easy steps from your preferences. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Edit menu.
  2. Choose the Preferences option.
  3. Select the Checking portion on the left-hand menu bar.
  4. Tap the My Preferences tab.
  5. Make any necessary changes.
  6. Hit OK when done.

That's all there is to it! Here's an article that may be able to help you and your business in the future: Checking account

These steps should do the trick. If you have any trouble along the way, just let me know. I'm always here to lend a helping hand. Have a great day!

Check Register pop up

I did all of that already and it still is showing up for the other account. When I click on "Check Register" from the home page. It shows a pop up that says "select account" with a drop down box. Right now it always pops up with Checking 2. I would like it to pop up with Checking 1.  I've gone into preferences and set it so that all the default accounts to use are set for Checking 1 but when I click on the "Check Register" icon on the home page it still pops up with Checking 2. Any other places I can go check?
