Connecting to bank after disconnecting prior connection

I had trouble connecting to our bank, so I disconnected them.  Now I want to reconnect to the same bank, but cannot delete prior login information.  Since there is no longer a connection, there are no options to do this from all of the solutions I have read.  PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Seems like it can only be done if you still have a connection with that bank.  I tried changing our login ID with the bank, but it still reverts right back to the old ID and password.

Connecting to bank after disconnecting prior connection

Greetings, bangers7!

I appreciate the information you shared regarding the connection snag you're getting. Let's work together to get past it.

May I know the financial institution you're using for your online banking? What error message are you getting when reconnecting your bank account with QuickBooks Online? This will help us check for ongoing investigations related to your bank.

In the meantime, you can try adding a new account with the same information as the original bank. Here's how:

  1. Click Banking from the navigation panel.
  2. Go to the Banking tab.
  3. Click on Add Account.
  4. Locate your financial institution and select it from the list.
  5. Enter your updated Login ID and password and click on Continue.
  6. Complete the security verification steps and select Securely connect.
  7. Choose the bank emblem of the account you want to connect in QuickBooks.
  8. In the Account type drop-down menu, choose either Bank or Credit Card account.
  9. Select Connect.

If you're able to connect the account successfully, you can merge it with the old bank to combine the transactions. However, if the issue persists, I would recommend contacting your bank to stop the old connection.

Please let me know how this goes, bangers7. I'm always around to help you get things squared away. Have a good one!

Connecting to bank after disconnecting prior connection

This does NOT work, as my previous bank login and password AUTOMATICALLY populate the fields and EVEN if you overtype them the revert back to the defaulted old ones as you precede to the next security screen, preventing communication with the bank.  Help please!  Thank you in advance.

Connecting to bank after disconnecting prior connection

I am trying to connect with National Iron Bank, as I have been doing previously.  I am getting a 102 and sometimes a 534 (not sure on that number though).

The problem is that I disconnected my accounts because I was having trouble connecting, and changed my password with the bank after my accounts were disconnected.  When trying to connect them again, QB will let me overtype the new bank logging info, but it reverts back to the auto filled previous id and password as soon as I proceed to the next window (security).  I know this because if I hit the back button at that point, the login fields show my previous credentials, not the new ones I entered.

Connecting to bank after disconnecting prior connection

Thanks for getting back, bangers7.

Upon checking, I found that our back end team was unable to research this issue because the National Iron Bank website is prompting a One Time Pass (OTP) code for Authentication.

Let's try to use a different browser or incognito window when logging in and answer the OTP authentication. Once this is done, please refresh the account for the updated account information to sync in QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. Select Banking from the left menu.
  2. Select the Update button in the upper right.
  3. Select Update Now.

Don't hesistate to let me know how it goes. I'll be right here to help you further.
