Join nowI have been recording payments where we pay down our credit card bill using the "record as transfer" option, now this morning I see there is a "record as credit card payment" option. What is the difference?
Hi @comet52,
There isn't a difference. In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you have several options on how you record your credit card payments.
One of which, you already stated above, is to create a transfer from a bank account to a credit card account. You can continue to use the same method or choose from other alternatives in this article: Record your payments to credit cards.
On the same note, I'll share this article with you as well: How to pay a bill with a credit or debit card. It lists two sets of steps. The first is for bill payment via a credit card, and the other is through a debit card.
I'll be glad to assist if you need further help. Post a comment below, and I'll get back to you.

With a new "Record as Credit Card Payment" feature, you can also add Vendor/Payee (example Chase as Payee) whereas on the old "Record as transfer", there is no Vendor/Payee selection. That's the only difference.
Hope this helps!
