Join nowHi,
I have following question:
Which credit cards can be linked to Quickbooks Desktop without needing to open up a debit account with the same financial institution?
We are currently using Brex and want to transition off of it but don't want to switch banking yet.
Chase, for example, only allows to connect their credit card if you have an existing debit account, I believe.
Are there any recommendations from anyone?
Really appreciate your help!
Hello there, Koray Y!
Thank you for your interest in Bank feeds. I'll guide you to check if your bank is supported for it.
The best way to do this is the search for the name of your financial institution. Then, if you get a result, you can click on it to know if you can directly connect it or if you can just upload bank transactions via a web connect file. However, I haven't gotten a result for Brex when I tried it myself. Therefore, your option is to enter your transactions in QuickBooks.
When you'll move to Chase and want to connect your Chase account, you can follow these steps:
Here's an article for your additional reference: Set up bank accounts for Bank Feeds in QuickBooks Desktop.
Let me know if you have other questions in mind. Take care and have a good one!
There is no specific bank we are working with, but trying to figure out who we should be working with. We are just looking for the appropriate credit card without any other bank services.
Does that narrow it down a little?
Hi there, @Koray Y.
Thanks for adding a clarification.
QuickBooks Desktop is accounting software that is commonly used by small business owners to manage their income and expenses. One of its features is called Bank Feeds that used to connect with financial institutions.
Since every bank has different policies and processes, we can't provide a specific one that best suits your business. I'd recommend looking for some suggestions outside QuickBooks. That way, you can choose which financial institution works for you.
To find out if your financial institution supports online services for QuickBooks, check out this article: Get started with Bank Feeds for QBDT.

RE: Chase, for example, only allows to connect their credit card if you have an existing debit account, I believe.
If it helps, I have several Chase CC accounts that I use with QuickBooks. I don't really even know what a "debit account" is, and so I'm pretty sure I don't have one.
