How do you get CrookBooks to give you the money they stole from you?

I'll make sure you'll be able to determine why your funds are on hold, @timwtatum.

 

While you received an email notification on why your funds are on hold, it also contains information. This covers the actions to be taken to release the funds.

 

In addition, if you've submitted some documents already and the hurdle continues, I'd suggest contacting our Merchant Services Team. They have the tools to check on your account and provide more details about this issue.

 

To call them:

  1. Click on Help at the top menu bar.
  2. Go to Search and then select Contact Us.
  3. Enter a brief description of the issue in the What can we help you with? box.
  4. Press on Continue.
  5. Select on Get a callback.
  6. Key in your contact details, then tap on Confirm my call.

I’ve been dealing with this since September 2021 and all I keep getting is lied to I even contacted the ceo Samar Godard or something like that. And still nothing but lies

They closed my account with 1500 dollars in it. And refuse to give me my 1500. Well they just lie about what they are going to do. Told me they would mail me a check like 10 times

CrookBooks means QuickBooks, right? Did you have any fraudulent issues with your account? I guess you need to contact their phone team again

Did you get your money back? They closed my checking account and are withholding thousands of dollars from me and stating I have to wait at least 270 business days to get my money back.

As far as I know their decision is final to hold your money and will release it once it reaches a certain date. You may have 2 options until then:
1. Use third party merchant services to receive payments and link them to your QBO.
2. Migrate your data to another brand and purchase a third party conversion service if needed.

They have just stolen $13,000 from me a customer's deposit in Tampa Florida and they've held the money for over two weeks I keep calling and they keep telling me tomorrow tomorrow two days two days two days it shows that it's in my account it shows that it's funded but it's not in any of my bank accounts I don't know what to do what kind of lawyer do I call please somebody help it's ruin my credit score I'm about to lose this customer it's my first commercial job I'm perfecting a daycare absolutely devastated I cried on the phone today two and a half hours so the QuickBooks representative who could tell me nothing

Open a claim with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) so these thieves can't keep your money. I was almost out over 80K and no one from Quickbooks customer service gave a crap. 

 

QB advertised "QuickBooks Checking & Payments" with a 1% APY Interest Rate. I opened the account + a "merchant account." I didn't need a merchant account, but they force you to open one with the checking. I transferred money into the checking account to take advantage of the interest rate.

 

After a few months I needed to access the funds, but noticed the account functionality was limited. A message popped up stating I needed to call customer service. I called CS, who stated an "internal business decision was made to close the account" and that my "funds will be available after TWO-HUNDREDED AND SEVENTY BUSINESS DAYS." I was furious & demanded to speak with a manager. I was told I could not speak to a manager that she could only put in a request for a manager to call me back in 48 hours. Thousands and thousands of dollars being held by these people and no manager available for 2 days!? AWFUL!

 

Over the next few days I spoke to QB multiple times including supervisors who all kept repeating my money was being held for 270+ days. After 1 year, QB said the money would go to the state and claimed the difficult part in all of this would be getting the money from the state. WHAT!?!

 

I was livid and contacted the BBB. Within  two days the "presidents office" reached out & connected me with their fraud dept. After asking me about 3 questions, the fraud dept cleared up the issue and reopened the account. They stated that QB decided to close my "Merchant Account" causing the checking account to lock. I think it was total BS and can't believe that these people were going to hold my money for over a year for NO REASON when a 5 minute phone call is all that was needed to clear up this issue. These people are thieves and should be absolutely ashamed for trying to hold people's money for 1+ years without cause.

SAME EXACT SCENARIO HERE.  For years my deposits from clients have been deposited into my Bank of America account.  I too decided to take advantage of the benefits that Quickbooks was offering when opening a checking account.  When I went into my QB checking account to transfer funds into my Bank of America account to cover the bills that are automatically debited out of my account, I was asked to verify my identity with a code that was sent to a phone number that I no longer have access to.  My address information and phone number change were updated 2 years ago, yet my new "merchant account" still had the old number on file.  I have spent every single day on the phone with representatives trying to get this resolved to no avail.  I have provided everything they have asked for and every day it's something else.  Today I received an email saying that my case is going to take more time, is under investigation, and will notify me when a decision is made.  What the hell is there to decide?? As a result of this, I can not use my credit cards because my payments were unsuccessful, my utility payments were unsuccessful, my motorcycle payment is over 10 days late which will now affect my credit, and I have not 1 dollar to buy food or basic necessities for myself.  In addition, I have a pile of insufficient fund charges from Bank of America.  All the while I have thousands of dollars that I have worked hard for that I cannot touch.  I cannot wrap my head around how a company can get away with being so crooked and have such disregard for one's livelihood and well-being.  It is about to turn into a lawsuit.

Another day has goon by and quick books will not release the funds that a customer sent my small business. I still cannot pay my employees. To every one out there WARRINING DO NOT USE THE ACH FUNCTION. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same thing is happening to me.  Quickbooks sent my payment to another account completely different from the one that is in the system and their agents have no idea what to do, keep telling me lies to get me off the phone.  Quickbooks steals and commits fraud

There has to be a way to report you to BBB.

I did! After filing a claim with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) a case was quickly opened against Quickbooks. Someone from Quickbooks security / "Presidents Office," then reached out,  asked about three questions to confirm my identity, and reopened the account. After the account was reopened I transferred all of my money out of Quickbooks and never looked back.  

 

If this doesn't work for you, you could also report them to the FDIC. 

 

On another note... The cost of Quickbooks also doubled so I stopped using them for tracking my business finances too. I use Wave now which is a bit more manual but free for small businesses. Worth it for me!

If you are working solo, you can use the trial version of QB Desktop for good with a workaround.
