Deleted Reconciled Transactions

While I was trying to figure out QB i made some mistakes. I was advised the best way to fix the transactions was to delete the transactions. Now i can't reconcile because i have $76k in transactions that were deleted but previously reconciled. How do i fix this? it's hundreds of transactions.

Deleted Reconciled Transactions

Let's fix the error you have with your reconciliation, @csteger.

You can fix those deleted reconciled transactions by manually adding them back and making sure to add an R in the checkmark column.

I also suggest running a past reconciliation report, then review your bank statements. For transactions that were on the previous bank statement but weren't on the reconciliation for those dates, you can add it manually.

Here's how to run the report:

  1. Go to the Reports menu and enter Reconciliation Reports in the Find report by name search bar.
  2. Select Reconciliation Reports.
  3. Select the Account for the reconciliation report you want to view.
  4. From the Report period drop-down arrow, choose the reconcile period.
  5. Select View Report.

After manually adding those transactions, you can now mark them as reconciled:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu and proceed to Chart of Accounts.
  2. Find the account you’re reconciling and select View register.
  3. Click the transaction to expand the view.
  4. Select the box in the checkmark column until you see the letter R.
  5. Click Save once you're done.
