I'm here to provide the instruction on how to bring in your bank transactions, bookkeeping61.
You need to download transactions from the old credit card account. If you no longer have access to it, you can contact the bank provider and ask them for a copy of your bank statements.
Once you have those bank statements, you can manually upload them to QuickBooks. Just make sure the file is in CSV format to prevent errors during the upload.
Here's how to import bank transactions:
- In QuickBooks Online, go to the Banking menu.
- Click the Link account ▼ drop-down and then Upload from file.
- Select Browse and click the file you downloaded from your bank, then select Next.
- In the QuickBooks account ▼ drop-down, select the account you want to upload the transactions into, then Next.
- Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks, then Next
- Select the transactions you would like to import, then Next.
- Click Yes.
- When you're ready, select Let's go.
Now that your transactions are in QuickBooks, it's time to match and categorize them. The transactions go into your accounts after you review them.
Moving forward, make sure to review transactions on the Banking page and add them in QuickBooks before disconnecting the account. Doing this ensures all transactions are posted on your register and that you don't have to worry about uploading them.
After putting bank transactions in QuickBooks, your final step is to reconcile them. This ensures your books are accurate and there aren't any duplicate transactions.
