Does anyone else have an issue with the chart of accounts limits? I'm paying $60/mo for the flexibility of QBO, but I am about to just go back to QB pro '16. This fair?

to go back you would have to buy 2019, still much cheaper than QBO

the export to desktop is flawed, all your data will not transfer back accurately.   be ready, Some things do not export, inventory exports as service items with no history, payroll if you have it is exported as regular checks, these and other known problems have existed for over 9 years
see the limitations:

Out of curiosity, why move to QBO from desktop to start with?  Even a hosting plan from someone other than intuit would be cheaper if you need 24/7 access.

Thanks for posting in the Community, @ethan-eloquinent. I can provide clarification on the Chart of Account limits.

In an ever-changing business climate, QuickBooks Online (QBO) is evolving in order to keep pace and provide businesses with the resources that are best for them. In order to do that, plans and usage limits have been revised to match the capabilities of products.

The Usage tab has been added so that a user can easily and quickly see where they're at. You can access it by selecting the Gear icon, clicking Account & Settings and choosing Usage on the left.

Should you be in excess of a limit, you'll still be able to run your business as normal. However, you won't be able to add a new entity in that area.

Please also know that inactive entities do not count against the usage limit. It's been looked at by some as an opportunity to clean up their books and remove accounts that they no longer need. I'm including some articles that cover usage limits and inactivating accounts for additional insight:

Generally, a high number of entities, such as a large Chart of Accounts, is indicative of a more complex business. We realize that there are some customers that are outgrowing QBO and the goal is to make sure that they have a fully featured product to meet their requirements.

QuickBooks Online Advanced is a new and powerful product to suit the needs of these businesses. In addition to an unlimited Chart of Accounts, there are many other helpful features, such as Smart Reporting by Fathom, a dedicated Customer Success Manager to serve as a point of contact for support and accelerated invoicing. I'm including an article on this product for further insight: QuickBooks Online Advanced Overview.

I realize that you may have questions about this and I'd be delighted to answer them. Best regards.
