Welcome to the Community forum, Linda.
Allow me to share some insights about nonprofit taxes Form 990 in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
In QBO, you can configure your account to better fit your organization's needs by making sure your account uses terms, reports, and forms used in nonprofit organizations. However, the feature of e-filing Form 990 is currently unsupported in QBO.
Although QuickBooks doesn't support e-filing this form, you can access and utilize the following reports to file the said tax form outside QBO:
- Statement of Activity (Profit and Loss)
- Statement of Financial Position (Balance Sheet)
You can follow the steps below to generate them:
- Go to Reports.
- Search the report name in the Find Report by name search field.
- Filter the Report period and the Accounting method.
- Once done, click Run Report.
Furthermore, you can customize these reports to focus on specific details, compare data across different periods, and present information in a format relevant to your business operations.
You may also check out the instructions on how to file Form 990 or visit the IRS website for more details.
