Editing .QBO files to import a credit card as a credit card, not an "other current liability"

I recently tried to connect our company's new credit card with Bank Feeds.  I ran into a problem wherein our bank (BECU) classifies the credit card as a "CREDITLINE" which means that QuickBooks will only import it as an "Other current liability" account type.  If I open the .QBO file in a text editing program I can see where the script reads: <ACCTTYPE>CREDITLINE and have tried changing it to "CREDIT" and "CREDITCARD" and "CREDIT CARD" and "CC".  I'm not a computer programmer or a hacker, just a bookkeeper, and can't figure out the correct code to use to get this .QBO file to import as a credit card.  Has anyone figured out a workaround here?  Bank Feeds and Web Connect make my life so much easier, but I can't have a credit card classified as an "other current liability" in our chart of accounts.  Please help.

Re: Editing .QBO files to import a credit card as a credit card, not an "other current liability"

Hello there, Nein.

Thanks for joining the QuickBooks Community. I want to ensure the transactions imported to QuickBooks are posted to the correct account.

The information we received is dependent on what your bank sends over to QuickBooks. I suggest contacting BECU to help you reclassify or change the category type from CREDITLINE to CREDIT CARD.

You should be able to fix the file by using our BRC OFX Cleaner  and its feature to convert a credit line files to credit card files.
