Error code with webconnect

I have read discussions and instructions for the error when trying to download via web connect with Suntrust.  But I cannot find or remove &Amp.  I can't even get a report that I could send to QBs.  It either sends or it doesn't.  Is there a viable solution?  I am getting narrowing down to the problem day and than entering all that day's tranactins manually.  Will this ever be fixed.  What do I do in the mean down.  Pleae don't send me links to the solution that say "remove &amps"  unliess you tell me how to download that file and how to get it into QBs.  Thanks.

I want this issue about WebConnect is taken care of right away, knapiks.

Let's make sure to create a backup of your company file beforehand in case you might need this in the future. Next is to update QBDT to its latest release. Most of the time, performing this action can fix data issues.

Then, download your Web Connect file directly from your bank, not from inside QuickBooks.

  1. Sign in to your bank's website
  2. Find and download the Web Connect file (.qbo file).
  3. Open QuickBooks and your company file. Click this link for instructions on how to upload transactions

If you see an error when you download or import the file, there may be an issue with your bank. Reach out to your bank for help.

If you can import and see your transactions in QuickBooks, follow the steps to reset your bank connection.

For additional troubleshooting options, you can have this article as a reference. Proceed to Step 2: Fix Web Connect import errors.

Once done, you can try using the Web Connect option again. There are two ways to do that. The first is in QuickBooks and the second is outside QuickBooks.

Inside QuickBooks Desktop:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Hover over Bank Feeds and select Banking Center.
  3. Find your bank and select Download Transactions. This opens a browser window to your bank's website.
  4. Sign in to your bank's website to download the Web Connect file.

Outside QuickBooks Desktop:

  1. Open a web browser and go to your bank’s website.
  2. Sign in to your bank account using your normal process.
  3. Download your transactions as a QuickBooks Web Connect (.qbo) file.

Note: Every bank has a different method for downloading QuickBooks Web Connect files. If you're not sure how to do it, visit your bank's website and look for their steps. If you can't find any, reach out to your bank for help.

  4. Once you have the Web Connect file, follow the steps to import it into QuickBooks Desktop.

More details about downloading bank feed transactions in QBDT can be found in this article: Download Bank Feed transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

I is usually just one day that won't import.  So the conenection is fine.  I don't know how to find the corrupted transaction as I can't view the report from Suntrust/Truist.  there used to be an option to import or save the QB's file.  that is gone apparently.

QuickBooks Team

Error code with webconnect

Hi there, knapiks.

I appreciate you for coming back to the thread to add further details about your concern. With this, I'll be sharing extra troubleshooting steps to ensure you'll be able to download entries via web connect in QuickBooks Desktop.

When you already bought a QuickBooks license and installed it on your computer, you'll have the possibility to use a test file. All live versions of the program are equipped with sample files so our customers can run tests without penetrating the actual account. That said, I suggest creating a test file and importing transactions from there. This is to verify if the actual fie is operating properly.

You can access the test account on the QuickBooks startup page when you launch the program. I've attached a screenshot below for visual reference.

If you're currently working on the actual company, you can switch to the sample file by clicking the File menu and selecting Close Company/Logoff. You may click this article to learn more about opening a practice file: How to Create a Practice or Testing File in QuickBooks?

If you're able to import from a test company file, you'll need to go back to your existing company file and I recommend switching between Bank Feeds modes in QBDT. You can open this article to see the detailed steps on how to perform the process: Switch between banking modes.

If the issue continues to occur, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Support Team. They have the tools to check your account and investigate the cause of the issue.

Lastly, you may refer to this article to view instructions on how you can reconcile your accounts so they match your bank and credit card statements to avoid discrepancies: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Desktop.

Feel free to connect with me again if you have any questions. I'm just a click away if you have additional concerns or help. Have a lovely day!

Error code with webconnect

I already know I can import.  Just one day a month from Suntrust won't import.  Amex is fine.  The other Suntrust account is fine.

Error code with webconnect

Appreciate the update, @knapiks.

Since the connection of your account is in a good state and you're able to import transactions from other accounts, may I know if you received an error upon importing one day of transactions from SunTrust bank?

Let me know in the comments below. I'll surely get back and help you import them. Stay safe!

Level 2

Error code with webconnect

I used to import a month at a time.  Then I started getting the error message.  the one everyone was getting.  So import week by week.  One of the weeks also gets the error message.  so them I do day by day until I find the day that has the error.  I have to enter those transactions manually.  Sometimes there are a lot.  If it falls on a weekend that is going to be time consuming!  But I have no way to view the report now that I cannot choose to import or save file once it is downloaded from bank, so I can't find the error.

Level 2

Error code with webconnect

Now it does not work at all since SunTrust is Truist.  QB's has no help on weekends which is the only time I can work on this.  Why?  I can't fix this.  Online help was useless.  I need a person.

QuickBooks Team

Error code with webconnect

Hi, @knapiks. I'm stepping into the thread to help you download and import your bank transactions to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

For now, you may want to consider reaching out to your bank to request a digital copy of your bank transactions so you can import them to QuickBooks. Once you have the details, you can prepare the file manually to upload the transactions to QuickBooks: Set up bank accounts for Bank Feeds in QuickBooks Desktop.

On the other hand, I also recommend reaching out to our Support Team during their business hours (M-F 6 AM to 6 PM) so a live representative can check the connection between your bank and QuickBooks securely.

Once your bank entries are added in QuickBooks, you're now ready to review and categorize them through the For Review section.

If you have any other banking questions, let me know by adding a comment below. I'm always here to help. Keep safe!
